Weight loss show host 'fired for being fat'

The full-figured host of weight-loss show Dance Your A** Off was fired because she was too fat, a new report claims.

Marissa Jaret Winokur was replaced on the program earlier this month by the former "Sporty" Spice Girl Melanie Brown.

Producers said Mel B was a "better fit" for the show's audience and said "after talking to the audience that there was a portion ... who loved her and a portion who didn't connect with her."

But US Weekly claims Winokur was let go because of her curves.

"The producers were constantly on her to lose weight," a source was quoted by the magazine as saying.

"She was asked to wear suits to cover her arms and legs.

"She was fired for being fat."

The show was part of Nine's line-up last year but dumped after one episode because of lacklustre ratings.

It is a different story in the US where the program, which screens on the Oxygen channel, attracted 1 million people during its premiere — reportedly the network's best ever.

never watched the show, but how god damn rude firing her for being overweight, she must have been like that when they hired her so they knew what they were getting
