Girl murdered near home in Bundaberg Qld.

A NINE-YEAR-OLD Bundaberg girl has been found dead near her family home in Walker Street.

Police have confirmed they are investigating the death as a murder.

The girl was reported missing just after 5.30am today and, soon afterwards, her body was found in a drain by a general duties police officer.

It is believed the youngster was abducted overnight after a break and enter, and her parents woke this morning to discover their daughter was missing.


"Early indications are it's a possible break and enter at that premises," Detective Superintendent Maurice Carless told a media conference at Bundaberg police station this afternoon. She was reported missing by her father around 5.44am (AEST) and her body was found a short time later in a pipe that ran off a storm drain near her home, police said. "We're certainly treating it as a murder," Det Supt Maurice Carless said. "This is a very difficult time for the family." A baby was also in the house when the girl went missing.

This is very sad as i use to live in bundaberg over a year ago and i didnt think things were getting this bad...

I seen this on the news. So sad, I cried when i seen it

devastating. so scary to hear and to think it's the 2nd little girl taken from her own bed during the night this week.

we don't even lock our doors at night! I'll be paranoid now!

That's terrible.
It's very disheartening to think there are people out there going around kinapping little girls and murdering them.

Yeah iv been watching it on tv all morning and im just discusted that there are sick people out there that think they can just go into peoples home and just take there children and kill them it just really pisses me off grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
