Boy back with mum who taped him to wall

An American toddler is back living at home with his mother after she and her boyfriend were jailed for duct taping him to a wall.

The 22-month old boy was originally placed in the custody of the US state of Nebraska after photos emerged of the abuse.

But the boy has now been put back in the custody of his 18-year-old mother Jayla Hamm, ABC News reports.

Gage County officials said state health officials would continue to monitor the boy's home, while prosecutors were investigating a separate case to see if Hamm should continue to have custody of the boy.

Hamm, from the town of Beatrice, held her son to the wall while her boyfriend, 19-year-old Corde Honea, duct taped the boy's wrists and legs in January.

According to police the couple were "high after a night of partying" and decided to stick the boy to the wall as entertainment.

An affidavit to Cage County District Court said photos taken on Hamm's camera showed the boy was crying while being restrained with the fluorescent green tape.

Hamm was sentenced to 10 days in jail to be served over five weekends as well as two years probation.

Honea was sentenced to three to five years in prison for intentional child abuse, with an additional 12-24 months for possession of firearms
